When I first visited the Bad Fork Valley Overlook on the Blue Ridge Parkway in 2014, it was almost completely overgrown with bushes and weeds. A year later when I visited, everything had been cleared and the view restored. Unfortunately, in 2020 it looks like things are regressing once again, for vegetation is blocking the lower half of the vista, leaving nothing but the tops of the mountains to see. Furthermore, the mountains run parallel to the overlook, which lends little sense of depth to the vista. Without the fall colors, what you can see is just not that interesting.
