Picnic tables are scattered throughout Cumberland Island National Seashore, though there are no traditional picnic areas for hosting family reunions or other large events. There are no food concessions on the island, so all food and drinks must be brought over from the mainland. No grills are available except at campsites. Water from Sea Camp and areas south is drinkable. The only water north of Sea Camp that is drinkable is at Plum Orchard Mansion.

The following is a list of picnic areas starting at the southern end of the park:

SERVICE VILLAGE AT DUNGENESS

A number of picnic tables are located on the grounds outside of the Carnegie-era laundry building at the Dungeness historic area Service Village. This is a small, white building near the much larger Carriage House. The laundry building now contains a restroom and has a drinking fountain, plus there is some antique laundry equipment on display inside.

GROUNDS OF DUNGENESS RUINS

There are a few scattered picnic tables located on the grounds behind the Dungeness Mansion ruins and over by the Tabby House, one of the many buildings on the property.

DUNGENESS FERRY DOCK

One of the more lovely picnic areas is located at the Dungeness ferry dock. Numerous tables are spread out around the area, many shaded by enormous live oaks. A restroom facility is located in the Ice House Museum, the white building near the dock.

SEA CAMP CAMPGROUND

Picnic tables are located near the boardwalk that leads to Sea Camp Beach, which is accessed by walking to the end of the trail to Sea Camp Campground. Though at the campground, these tables are open to everyone, as is the access ramp and the restrooms.
