Length: 1.1 miles, one way (2.1 miles from Sea Camp along Grand Avenue)
Time: 20 minutes
Difficulty: Easy

The Pratts Trail on Cumberland Island runs from Grand Avenue just north of the side road to Little Greyfield Beach and heads northeast to Stafford Campground and Stafford Beach. The only reason to hike this trail is to get to and from these destinations. For those traveling to Stafford Campground along the Parallel Trail from Sea Camp, you’ll want to take the Pratts Trail when the two intersect, as this is the most direct route. The 1.1-mile distance listed above is for the entire Pratts Trail: Grand Avenue to the campground.

The environment along the Pratts Trail is a mixture of live oaks, pine trees, palmettos, and other shrubs and small trees. This differs drastically from the forests found near Sea Camp that are almost exclusively comprised of live oaks and palmetto bushes. You will, however, find more live oaks as you get closer to the coast.

For the most part, the path is wide enough to avoid touching the vegetation along the side of the trail, though there are a few narrow spots. Ticks love to wait for prey in such vegetation, so be sure to check yourself for ticks every time you touch something green.

The trail ends at a dirt road that runs between Grand Avenue and the campground. Take a right to reach the campground.
